Wolves and Wargs

In Middle-Earth, wolves are more sinister – more in line with their role in European fairy-tales – but Wargs are far more dangerous. Wargs are huge, intelligent wolves, able to speak to each other and to their Goblin allies, and actively cunning and cruel. Unlike other predators, who merely hunger, Wargs hate.

There are also periodic stories of Werewolves, supernatural creatures that attack during the night, but leave no trace in the morning, but these are only a few among many wolf-related tales told around a fire at night.
